The 720 HP BMW 5 Series Electric Prototype!

Based on a current-generation BMW 5 Series, the Power BEV is designed to showcase what BMW can do with its new fifth-gen electric powertrain.

According to BMW, this setup provides a total power output of around 720 hp (530kW) and allows the Power BEV to accelerate from 0-62 mph in under three seconds.

    Right… But… What about the recharging time? Electric cars are useless because they don’t go very far and take ages to be recharged, so how BMW addressed these issues?

    The "specs" as told by the driver are indeed impressive, but charging cannot be ignored. BMW does not have a charging network. Tesla is the only manufacturer that has one, and they did a good job with it. You might argue that VW is funding EA, but that network is not reliable and has been derated on the east coast.
